23rd Turn Off - The Dreams Of Michelangelo. CD. (RPM Bam Caruso - RPMBC287) A long-overdue and much anticipated retrospective of the recording career of this Jimmy Campbell led Merseybeat group who also served under the name "The Kirkbys" (whose one and only single "It's A Crime" is included here). This compilation features the "23rd Turn Off"s classic track "Michaelangelo" which has been featured to great effect on many a compilation including the Rubbles series. In fact this compilation draws together all material recorded by the "23rd Turn Off" and "The Kirkbys" and the majority of the tracks have lingered unreleased for aeons. A great slice of Merseybeat psych that should not be overlooked.
