Ace - Five A Side- The Very Best Of. . .. CD. (Lemon - CDLEM70)

First and long overdue CD compilation of this fondly-remembered 70s soul-influenced pub rock band, whose best-known hit 'How Long' is often quoted as a great love song, but is actually about a moonlighting bass player!! Fronted by Paul Carrack, later known as the voice of both Squeeze's best single ('Tempted') and one of the many voices of Mike & The Mechanics (don't hold that against him), as well as being a respected solo artist in his own right, the band released three excellent albums during their short lifespan , and 14 of them, including the excellent 'Sail On My Brother' are included on this compilation. All tracks have been digitally remastered, and the package contains interesting sleevenotes. Buy this, it's Ace (GRRRRRR!! -Ed)
