Davy Graham - Broken Biscuits. CD. Recorded over the past two years, his 2007 "Broken Biscuits" offers 16 tracks, and features 9 new Graham compositions alongside arrangements of traditional music from all over the world. It represents Graham's first substantial recorded work since 1979's "Dance For Two People." | Screw - Banks Of The River / Devil's Hour (10inch + CD With Psychede. 10". Screw were an amazing UK 60s psychedelic blues quintet from south London whose chief claim to fame was their support spot at the Rolling Stones Hyde Park concert in July 1969. The group released no records during their brief heyday (1967-70) but Shagrat Records has unearthed the bands only two extant recordings along with a Screw related outtake "Psychedelic Harps". The two tracks on the 10" were recorded in May 1969 under the supervision of Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason whilst the CD features a twin psychedelic mouth harp jam that was part of Screw's set. With nods towards Captain Beefheart, the Misunderstood and Free, the band featured Chris Turner (harmonica), Al Kinnear (guitar), Nick Brotherwood (drums), Stan Scrivener (bass) and Pete Hossell (vocals), and they played many gigs at the time including the Roundhouse, Eel Pie Island and the London Guildhall. A genuine lost band offering two killer, dirty acid blues tracks that will appeal to fans of late 60s UK freak rock ! Only 500 limited copies made with a detailed historical insert by Nigel Cross - who saw the band in the late 60s and also unearthed this piece of rock history! We recommended you pre-order to secure a copy. |
Pyg - Pyg. CD. Pyg was formed in 1971, as a super group, by former Tigers vocalist Kenji ‘Julie’ Sawada. Made up of Sawada and former Tigers drummer Hiroshi Oguchi, plus ex-members of Group Sounds bands The Spiders and The Tempters | Dirty Blues Band - Dirty Blues Band / Stone Dirt. CD. Featuring former Misunderstood steel guitarist Glenn Ross Campbell and the vocals of 19 year old harp genius Rod Piazza (later of Bacon Fat and the Mighty Flyers) the Dirty Blues Band played hard and heavy guitar and harmonica blues. These two album are a mean and dirty production of rambling guitars and screaming vocals. Hard blues the way it should sound from an underrated group of American individuals. |

Cyril Davies / Various - Preachin' The Blues. CD. The late Cyril Davies was the UK’s first and most accomplished disciple of Chicago blues. Cyril’s groundbreaking partnership with Alexis Korner laid the foundations for the UK 60’s Blues/R&B boom. This is a unique anthology comprising virtually every track that Cyril is known to have played and/or sang on between 1954-64.This is all seriously collectable material and much of Disc 1 has never previously been reissued, much less has it ever appeared on CD. Containing a total of 50 tracks, this is a comprehensive anthology. | Johnny & Edgar Winter - Together. CD. Though Edgar and Johnny collaborated on many of each other’s recordings, this album was their first joint effort. First released in 1976 on CBS, ‘Together’ features regular sidesmen Rick Derringer and the late Dan Hartman. Digitally remastered and slipcased. Includes perhaps the longest medley known to man: "Slippin’ And Slidin’/JailhouseRock/Tutti Frutti/Sick And Tired/I’m Ready/Reelin’ And Rockin’/Blue Suede Shoes/Jenny Take A Ride/Good Golly Miss Molly.
