Allen Toussaint - What Is Success - The Scepter And Bell Recordings. CD. (Kent Soul - CDKEND 286)

Toussaint's second solo album, the first that he released under his own name (originally titled Toussaint) augmented with the A's and B-sides of three 45's from the same era. First out in 1970, this was largely overlooked but is now considered to be a masterpiece of the time; it is a showcase for both Toussaint’s widely admired piano playing and his unique bluesy voice. Sixteen tracks in total, including: "Working In The Coalmine", "From A Whisper To A Scream", "The Chokin' Kind" and "Number Nine."
