Amon Duul II - Yeti (Remastered ). CD. (SPV - SPV085304192) Released in 1970 as a mammoth double album of improvisational (and inspirational) space rock, this was perhaps the German's psych scene's finest hour. You could find influences here of Hawkwind, Pink Floyd and Can, but who is being influenced by whom? "Vorsprung Durch Tripnik" as they may well have said if they had been able to. Stunning and incomparable.Housed in a digi pack re-creating the original artwork and great liner note booklet.

Amon Duul II - Wolf City. CD. (Repertoire Records - SPV305372) Obtained a few copies of the CD reissue of this classic album from the experimental space rock German band. Mixing equal parts searing West Coast styled acid guitar, a thunderous rhythm section and full on male/female vocals. Highlights one of the leading lights of the seventies in fine form.Housed in a digi.

Amon Duul II - Vortex. CD. (Revisited Records - SPV085304022) The Duul's only 80s album (unless one counts the English lineup led by Dave Anderson and John Weinzierl much later) was somewhat of a return to form, helped by the return of everyone's favourite 'odd' woman Rennie Knaup to the fold, and the inclusion of several direct and hard driving songs like 'We Are Machine' and 'Vibes In The Air'. Of its time now, in the way that Hawkwind's concurrent output ('Levitation' 'Sonic Attack') is, but what fascinating time to have been in!! now in a deluxe edition 3 fold digi CD format with enhanced booklet,with new liner notes and 2 bonus tracks including the 9 minute "(Ras) Putin In Der Badewanne".

Amon Duul II - Utopia. CD. (Spalax - 14878) Reissue of the superb 1972 album that was recorded as a side project to Amon Düül II but features most of that band. With Renate Knaup in full voice this was a move towards shorter, more accessable songs, but with those spaced jams lifting the procedings into the ionosphere this album is a true AD classic. Includes three bonus tracks....

Amon Duul II - Vive La Trance. CD. (SPV - SPV305382) Possibly the last of the great trippy Amon Düül II albums, this 1973 release by the legendary German psychedelic band had an almost West Coast feel to it, with some excellent instrumental jamming and fine melodic songs- including the evil, voodoo-influenced 'Mozambique' and one pure pop tune, 'Trap' that seems to predate Blondie by three years.

Amon Duul II - Surrounded By The Bars. CD. (Tempel - 14810 MSI) If you haven't heard the magic of Amon Düül II, this great album of 1993 mixes is a splendid place to start. With classic tracks taken from their early '70s releases given a spring-clean and three 1993 re-recordings: "Surrounded By The Bars", "Surrounded By The Stars" and "Dancing On Fire". One of the finest German bands in the history of rock!!

The original film was shot in 1968 and features the bands legendary early line up performing the title track from their soon to be 1969 debut album. Amon Duul II - Pyragony X. CD. (Repertoire Records - REP 4632) The tenth album from the German Krautrock masters, this effort from 1976 continues in the fine vein of spacey progressive rock of previous releases( i.e. their more experimental roots,) and is a fine addition to their exemplary back catalogue.

Amon Duul II - Made In Germany. CD. (Garden Of Delights - CD099) Exact CD issue of the double LP that was only released in Germany. A fantastic record that is a kind of mad-cap concept work based on German History, a bit like Robert Calvert's first two albums. The mixture of all out acid rock, pop and orchestrated progressive music is diverse and spellbinding. It's also very funny. A much underrated release....

Amon Duul II - Live In Tokyo (Remastered). CD. (Gamma - GRR 83808) Recorded in 1996 by the reformed band, this includes the all time favourites "Wolf City", "Archangel's Thunderbird" and "Nada Moonshine" amongst others and shows that they had lost none of their skill and power. Kraut rock at its best!

Amon Duul II - Hijack. CD. (Garden Of Delights - CD 079) Re-issue of one of the hardest to find albums by Amon Düüll from 1974. Their eighth album it saw the band continue to dabble with more commercial avenues and bring in diverse styles to the bands overall space rock sound. Similar to Vive La Trance and the album that followed Made In Germany this is inspiring avant-garde rock pop from one of the best German bands of the '70's.

Amon Duul II - Carnival In Babylon. CD. (SPV - SPV305352) First released in 1972, this album saw a slight change in direction to shorter song based material, still characterised by the tripped out anarchy of previous efforts, but with a more reflective overview. Remastered version comes with four bonus tracks, detailed booklet and housed in a digi.

This continues their previous well-documented journeys into the world of psychedelic space-rock, and is one of their best and maddest albums. Germany's answer to Jefferson Airplane/Hawkwind. Amon Duul II - Almost Alive. CD. (Revisited Records - SPV085304002) After the relatively slick and poppy moods of 'Vive La Trance''Hijack' and 'Pyragony X' the Duul decided to return to the world of utter chaos that had characterised their finest early work, and released this album of what can only be described as 'free form rock' with emphasis on instrumental jamming passages and unhinged noise. Probably the best of their post Knaup-Kroetenschwanz period, re-released now in a deluxe edition 3 fold digi CD format with enhanced booklet,with new liner notes and 3 bonus tracks including the infamous "Kitchen Jam".
