Blonde On Blonde - Contrast. LP. (Abaraxas - 42044)

Progressive popsters from Newport, South Wales, Blonde On Blonde were a part of the 1968 musical explosion (launched by the Isle of Wight Festival) that created an arena for so many bands in the late 60s British underground scene (Crazy World Of Arthur Brown, The Move, and Tyrannosaurus Rex, to name a few). Using a fusion of folk vocals, a post mod rhythm section and fuzz guitars, Blonde on Blonde created aura of freshness and inventive that gave new meaning to the term 'progressive'. Their 1969 Contrasts marks a beautiful debut and is still a nice piece of music that is definitely worth the reissue. Also featuring one of the most amazing cover versions of the Beatles’ "Eleanor Rigby".180 gram virgin vinyl with PVC dustsleeve

Blonde On Blonde - Contrasts... Plus. CD. (Castle - CMRCD257)

The debut album by this UK band was issued in 1969 and is an undiscovered gem of late '60's progressive pop/psych. Featuring freaky jams, multi layered harmonies, sitars and ripping guitars it's an eclectic and entertaining collection. Of particular note is the rock version of The Incredible String Band's "No Sleep Blues" and a version of Eleanor Rigby. Includes detailed sleeve notes and two bonus tracks.

Blonde On Blonde - Rebirth. CD. (Spalax - CD 14525)

Highly collectable and best second album from this excellent late '60s Welsh progressive/psychedelic rock band. Released in 1970 it's a beautifully constructed release with a distinctive vocal style and some breathtaking guitar work. The song material is not only wonderfully melodic but is mysterious and otherworldy...crossing the divide between '60's psych and prog.Housed in a digi pack re-creating the original artwork.

Blonde On Blonde - Reflections On A Life. CD. (Spalax - 14526)

Third album from 1971 by this highly regarded but woefully ignored fine UK progressive band. Elements of Moody Blues or Barclay James Harvest could be gleaned from this album, but it's their own distinctive sound that shines through with those unique wavering vocals. A lost classic and housed in a digi pack

Blonde On Blonde - Rebirth/Reflections On A Life. Dble CD. (Acrobat - ACMCD5017)

The two albums capture a hugely intriguing fragment of rock history a significant chunk of the career of a band that was probably as good as most things that were happening at the time but who were never destined to make the big breakthrough they deserved.· giddy mixture of prog, hard rock, folk, psychedelia and straight pop·Original sleeve notes by Tommy Vance as well as further new information on the band·A growing cult surrounds this highly collectable band who co-incidentally played the Isle Of Wight Festival same time as the man from which they took their name Bob Dylan.Unavailable for many years in the UK.2 classic Ember albums.
