Cake - More Of Cake. CD. (Cherry Red - CRREV222)

Classic girl group- isms mixed with Baroque Pop, Wyrd Folk, Psychpop and club R&B, all with a wonderful good humour… Fans of the esoteric might care to know that Kevin Ayers' song "Eleanor's Cake Which Ate Her" is about the group...that they sang backing vocals on Electric Ladyland and the first Soft Machine album...and that Eleanor herself sang 'I Got You Babe' with Tiny Tim (backed by The Band) in the cult movie "You Are What You Eat". Collected here are the groups two late 60's albums, both making their debut on CD. Remastered sound and a booklet that features phtos from the era and liner notes by Tiny Tim biographer Chris Campion.
