Captain Beyond - Sufficiently Breathless. CD. (Capricorn - 314 558 380-2)

More quality rock music from 1973 from this UK/US band. With a slightly mellower west coast edge than their debut, this still manages to keep that heavy groove going and is a welcome reissue and finds Rod Evans in fine vocal form and displays them for a subtler style of rock band.

Excellent 2 fer featuring on lead vocals Rod Evans, previously of Deep Purple and Lee Dorman ex-Iron Butterfly, these 1972 and 1973 studio albums are a classy powerhouse of heavy rock with a spacey but melodic edge that these days would be regarded as top notch rock... but hey, good music needs no labels…
