Chairmen Of The Board - Finder's Keepers Part. 2. Dble LP. (Earmark - 44012)

Originally a 'made-in-studio' band - intended to be a money maker for a bunch of former Motown producers. They went on to become one of the smoothest real soul acts to emerge from Detroit in the early 70's. On this second volume, you will find more of the hits that made Invictus a steady charting label for three straight years between 1970 and 1973. Get on the good foot! 180 gram vinyl pressing and housed in a PVC sleeve.

Chairmen Of The Board - Give Me Just A Little More Time. CD. (Castle Pie - PIESD266)

Formed in the late 60s in Detroit, Chairmen Of The Board were a soul outfit using vocal harmonies and catchy funky melodies. Their first single "Give Me Just A Little More Time" was an instant hit and established the group as one of the most important soul acts of the early 70s. Lead singer (and main songwriter) General Norman Johnson's instantly recognisable high register, trembling vocals gave them an identity all of their own. This fifteen track compilation includes all their hits from the early 70s before disco came along and they were no longer needed.

Chairmen Of The Board - Finders Keepers (the Anthology). 3-CD. (Castle - CMETD599)

When hit songwriters/producers Holland-Dozier-Holland left Motown Records and founded Hot Wax/Invictus. One of the company's strong points was the Chairmen of the Board, a vocal harmony group that, like the Four Tops at Motown, could be gritty and sweet at the same time. Lead singer General Norman Johnson, in fact, had a Levi Stubbs-like quality. This 3 CD set is a must for any soul collector as it includes the cream of four albums, three solo LP's and numerous singles and rarities. Superbly remastered, annotated and illustrated throughout, with a slipcase and colour foldout booklet.
