Charlatans - Charlatans SF 1969. CD. (Acadia - ACA8067)

Often regarded as the first of the San Francisco rock bands, the Charlatans mixed country rock influences with the burgeoning acid craziness to evolve a unique sound. This is the bands much underrated late '60s album with the addition of a bonus track of the radio advert for the release from the time.Great versions of 'Alabama Bound' and 'High Coin' sit alongside 'Folsom Prison Blues' 'When I Go Sailin' By' and 'Wabash Cannonball'. Think of a harder Sopwith Camel with more acid guitar work. Cool period sleeve.
