Curt Boettcher - There's An Innocent Face. CD.

Japanese issue of this 1973 solo album from the man famous for his work with Millenium, Sagittarius and The Association. As you'd expect this is a high class collection of superbly produced melodic summery pop songs in a similar vein to Curt's work with those bands.

Curt Boettcher - There's An Innocent Face (Sundazed). CD. (Sundazed - SC6184)

After taking sunshine pop to fabulous heights with the Millenium, Curt Boettcher embarked on a solo career in 1973 with his Elektra debut 'There's An Innocent Face', which stands as one of the most gloriously anachronistic albums of the time, seamlessly incorporating doo-wop, folk and country with intense, concisely-crafted chunks of ear candy. This Sundazed reissue features notes by Boettcher biographer Dawn Eden, illustrated by previously unseen outtakes from the original album photo sessions.

Curt Boettcher - Misty Mirage. CD. (Poptones - MC5007CD)

Comprising unreleased session tracks from 1969, together with demos, outtakes and radio adverts, this album at last makes available more material from the truly influential performer/ producer/ songwriter Curt Boettcher - to whom so many US Sixties harmony vocal groups owe such a debt. These sessions feature some odd musical pairings too - try moog synthesizer and pedal steel guitar!

Curt Boettcher - Chicken Little Was Right. CD. (Rev Ola - CRREV73)

For the first time on CD here is Curt's long-lost much talked about 1974 solo outing due to be released on Elektra Records before they pulled the plug. Grasping hold of a new acoustic format as firmly as he had the baroque softpop of his earlier work, he created the tracks here on this disc. The contents include all the finished tracks, work in progress mixes, and as a bonus Curt's original demos of "It's Sad World" and his very first hit with the Association, "Along Comes Mary" plus a full band demo from his Ballroom/Millenium period. Curt heaven!

Curt Boettcher - California Music. CD. (Poptones - MC5037CD)

Interesting mid to late Seventies production which although also featuring Brian Johnston, Terry Melcher and (allegedly) Brian Wilson, ended up being the brainchild of Curt Boettcher and Gary Usher. It's a mix of the summery paisley pop sounds previously known and the burgeoning disco scene. If that's a horrifying prospect then you need to listen more closely to this set of originals and cover versions.
