Daevid Allen Trio - Live 1963. CD. (Blueprint - BP122CD) Incredible historic document of what is essentially one of the earliest Soft Machine live shows. Performed at the Marquee club by Allen and the early line-up (inc. Robert Wyatt) at a time when they claimed to only be interested in the jazz scene. This performance can be abrasive and alienating but features some brilliant poetry and spoken word from Allen between tracks. Parts of these songs would later appear in some Gong recordings so these early versions are quite simply essential for any Gong or Soft Machine fan.
