Dana Gillespie - Foolish Seasons. CD. (Rev Ola - CRREV141) Dana's first album, recorded in 1967- several years before Bowie, blues or 'Ammer 'Orror were even glints on the horizon. At this point in her career Dana was a regular on the same folk circuit that spawned Sandy Denny, Bridget St John and the likes, and was much enamoured of Donovan and Cat Stevens. This debut, therefore, reflects her 'Swinging London'/soft pop sensibilities perfectly, and features the lady's own compositions alongside those of Billy Nicholls and the aforementioned Mr Leitch. Arranged by Mike Vickers,features the guitar work of Jimmy Page and produced by Beat god Wayne Bickerton, this album has never been released in the UK on ANY format anywhere, and features wonderful packaging including pictures of the lovely Dana (now one of the world's top blues singers) arranged by Gered Mankowitz.
