Davy Graham - The Guitar Player. CD. (Castle - CMRCD622) Nobody left a deeper mark on British acoustic guitarists in the early 60s than Davy Graham. Too talented and eclectic to be categorised as playing folk, blues or jazz, he evolved an utterly distinctive style that was much imitated but never equalled. His 1963 debut album proves why he was so influential, and it’s joined here by rare out-takes and live tracks from the late 60s and 70s.

(Rollercoaster - RCCD 3022) Wonderful 1976 album by the legendary UK guitarist that was originally issued as a limited edition on the Eron label, and is now very rare indeed. The album is a kind of cross section of Davy's history up to 1976 and opens with a re-recording of his most famous composition Anji. It goes on to explore a jazzy blues version of "No Preacher" the awesome "Tristano" (dedicated to the equally awesome jazz musician of the same name) and the eastern ragas of "Blue Raga" and "Sunshine Raga". The album also features the bass skills of Roger Bunn (ex Giant Sun Trolley/Pete Brown's Piblokto) and Keshav Sathe on tabla and tamboura. Housed in a three fold card mini LP sleeve, it includes six solo bonus tracks and a booklet with sleeve notes by John Renbourn.
