Deep Purple - Fireball (remaster). CD. (EMI - CDDEEPP2)

At last a remaster of the most progressive album the mighty Purps recorded. Written in Wales 1971 and then recorded with Martin Birch at De Lane Lea, this album jumped straight in at number one in the album charts upon it's release. This re-master contains excellent bonus material in the shape of studio outtakes and material that never made the final cut. Excellent 20 page colour booklet.

Deep Purple - Shades Of Deep Purple. CD. (EMI - 7243 4 98336 2)

Debut album (1968) by the Purps first line-up with Rod Evans on vocals. Very different to anything else that they ever recorded the album is firmly planted in the late '60's heavy rock/psych camp and owes a debt to US bands such as Vanilla Fudge and Iron Butterfly. Groovy guitar and keyboard flourishes and powerful harmony vocals are epitomised by the hit single "Hush". This remastered edition includes five bonus tracks and detailed notes...

Twenty two track live performance taken from Montreux and the Albert Hall in 1996, 1999 and 2000. Compiling the best moments of two live shows, Disc one is effectively a home coming gig, Montreux being the inspiration for many Purple classics. Deep Purple - Live At San Diego Sports Arena, April 9th 1974. CD. (Purple Records - PUR256)

Last show of the five week American "Burn" tour, with the band in blistering form. Able to let their hair down, the sheer power and quality of the performance has to be heard to be believed. Four tracks from this show turned up first on the American made and now very collectable "Perks & Tit" vinyl bootleg, issued on the legendary Kornyphone label back in the late seventies. For this first official CD release Sonic Zoom (part of the Purple Records label) tracked down the sound engineer who taped the first hour of the show through the mixing desk, and have been able to add extra material (including the missing cut of the band's rock anthem Smoke On The Water), all the between song patter, a concluding Jon Lord solo and much improved audio quality (as well as a comment from Glenn to the crowd that it's nice to be doing a show without having to worry about being recorded!). This is a single CD set, the second part of the show has been lost. The CD first appeared back in 2003 as a very limited edition, but has been out of print now for several years

Deep Purple - Live In London 1974. Dble CD. (EMI - 503 5802)

Live In London was recorded in 1974 on what turned out to be Deep Purple Mk 3’s only British tour. It was a pivotal year for the band, coming as it did after difficult line-up changes. They were anxious to both continue and build on their previous popularity and, while Mk 3 had been going down well in Europe and America, there was still a lot of importance attached to the reception the new line-up would get back home in Britain: Ritchie Blackmore, Ian Paice, Jon Lord, and new bassist Glenn Hughes and singer David Coverdale.Having recorded new album, Burn, and after road-testing their new line up around Europe, the band discovered to their relief that most of the fans accepted the new incarnation wholeheartedly.Deep Purple played 3 London dates on this tour, it was the show, at the enormous Gaumont Kilburn, on May 22nd 1974, which was recorded.Until now ‘Live In London’ has never been issued on CD in Europe and even then it did not contain the full set . The result is a 2CD set, with extensive sleevenotes and slipcase, and is a Deep Purple collector’s dream.Features the full 32 minute version of Space Truckin'.Disc 11. Burn 2. Might Just Take Your Life 3. Lay Down, Stay Down 4. Mistreated 5. Smoke On The Water Disc 2 1. You Fool No One 2. Space Truckin'
