Dentists - Some People Are On The Pitch They Think It's All Over Now. CD. (Rev Ola - CRREV120)

First ever appearance on CD of this 'lost' album by the 'black sheep' of the Medway set, who found themselves pushed into a corner and somewhat disenfranchised for their rejection of what they saw as the 'conservative' values of Billy Childish and his cohorts. Not for this lot the purist retro-garage recycling of any band with 'Thee' in the name (not that there's ANYTHING wrong with that kinda stuff): instead the music of choice was a textured blend of the jangling guitar pop of the Smiths, Soft Boys and REM mixed with full-on 60s Mod rock sensibilities (Pete Townshend was their idol), which left them very much a fish out of water at the time of this, their one and only album. Long sought after as a 'lost classic', now remastered with singles (including the excellent 'Strawberries Are Growing In My Garden' which matches Nick Nicely's 'Hiily Fields' for 80s psych perfection) and appearing for the first time ever on CD, it appears that as usual, the public had totally the wrong idea, as the album has stood the test of time to become recognised as a milestone. The packaging also features liner notes, photos and track-by-track comments from the band, all of whom are still alive somewhere. Produced by Allan Crockford of the Prisoners.
