Dillinger - Don't Lie To The Band. CD.

Constant live gigging by this Candian band provided an audience for this release, the more accessible follow-up to their eponymous debut. Released in 1976 it features further tasty cover tunes in the band's typical sprawling style (Spooky Tooth's "Two Time Love" and The Beatles "Taxman") as well as a large selection of originals. The album was produced at Toronto Sound by Terry Brown and Steve Vaughan and John Woloschuk- yes, the same team responsible for Klaatu's debut album in 1976. After this album most of the band went on to form hard rock band The Hunt.

Dillinger - CB200. LP. (Simply Vinyl - SVLP188)

Jamaican toaster Dillinger was a recording industry veteran by the time of this groundbreaking album(1975), which made him as a force in his own right. Borrowing his nom de plume from the Depression-era bank robber of the same name, Dillinger wastes no time getting to the point, while stellar, heavy dub-laden backing tracks weave underneath his pun-riddled patois. In some ways, this album offers a cross-section of reggae's fascinations with kung fu ("Natty Kick Like Lightning"), motorbiking (CB 200"), and a pot-puffing Rasta-versus-royals confrontation "Buckingham Palace" that numerous other artists would adapt for their purposes (most notably Peter Tosh for his"Buk-in-hamm Palace").180 gram vinyl

Dillinger - Some Like It Hot. CD. (Brook - BROOK1016)

This excellent compilation of Dillinger material comes from a period in the late seventies, when Dillinger was enjoying new found success amongst his fans with his fine style chatting being laid over classic tracks such as Dennis Brown's 'Westbound Train', 'Cassandra' and 'Conqueror'. Although this remarkable DJ has experienced some ups and downs in his career, all these tracks are from a definite 'up' period and should be enjoyed by all reggae fans everywhere.

Dillinger - Three Piece Suit. CD. (Planet Vibe - CM2144)

A DJ as famous as his gangster namesake, Dillinger was one of the second wave of Jamaican toasters who sprung up in the wake of the success of U-Roy, Big Youth, and Dennis Alcapone. By the mid-'70s the young Dillinger had rapped his way to the top of the pack, winning international acclaim. Renowned for his quick wit, irreverent raps and whacked sense of humour, the DJ remains one of the most innovative and humorous toasters of any era.. Between 1977 and 1979, Dillinger released a slew of domestic hits recorded with producer Bunny Lee collected on this album along with a number of King Tubby dub versions.
