Earth Lab / Hawkwind - Element. CD. (Earth Lab Records - ELR12) 2006 Cdfrom the former Hawkwind guitarist, Jerry Richards. Together with long time writing partner and current member of Sonic Boom's 'Spectrum' combo, Alf Hardy (Tubilah Dog,), Earth Lab exists as a vehicle for some of their more exotic and ambitious audio aspirations. The project draws on the talents of many friends and musical acquaintences, including: Former Hawkwind members, Steve Swindells, on vocal and keyboards, Ron Tree (vocalist and Hawkwind frontman during the 1990's) and the legendary violin skills of Simon House (High Tide ).The album varies from the "Wheels Part 2/We Took The Car", which is Hawkwind-esque seventies space-rock and has a similar riff to 'You Shouldn't Do That' to the 6 minute "New Light" an instrumental with beautiful synths and spaced out guitar sounds.You will all love this album.
