Ecstacy Of St. Theresa - Slowthinking. CD. (Labels Uk - 5907670) First album in virtually a decade for the Czech ambient Techno pioneers. First released in 2003, they have updated their sound to incorporate live strings and trip hop stylings reminiscent of Bjork and Portishead. Now down to a two piece, singer Katerina Winterová uses her connections with the Prague National Theatre to get top drawer classical musicians to add to the processed synths. Fascinating and haunting in equal measure, the shoe gazing touches of their early '90's work has been replaced by a more psychedelic electronica vibe. Sung almost entirely in English, the group that started out by sending John Peel a basic four track demo in the early '90's have evolved spectacularly.
