Ectogram - Fluff On A Faraway Hill. CD. (Klangbad - KLANGBAD34) Recorded in south Germany by legendary Krautrock producer and foudner of Faust: Hans Loachim Irmler, this is the Welsh noise trios new album. Over the space of a week the group, who have known Irmler for ten years, laid down these muscular multi layered psychedelic tracks. As ever, Ann Matthew's stream of consciousness lyrics and floating vocals work as a perfect contrast to the high quality musicianship on display but this is a departure from their usual fuzz workouts, the dip in tempo halfway through the eight tracks lets the band member shave a little more space to express themselves. A band that is still challenging themselves (and amnaging to have a lot of fun) six albums down the line.
