Eddie Hazel - Games, Dames And Guitar Thangs. CD. (Rhino Hand Made - RHM 27868)

Named one of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time Eddie was the original guitarist for Funkadelic on acid-soaked classics like "Maggot Brain" "I Wanna Know If It's Good To You," and "Standing On The Verge Of Getting It On," Hazel left the band in 1974 amid a flurry of drug use and financial disputes. Hazel then played on sessions for The Temptations, and finally hit prison! When he returned, he reunited with Clinton to begin work on this is a full-tilt, jam-filled showcase for Hazel's far-out virtuosity. He cuts loose on fiery extended versions of The Mamas And The Papas' "California Dreamin'" and The Beatles' "I Want You (She's So Heavy)." Hazel's hard living eventually caught up with him -- he died in 1992 of liver and kidney failure. Two years later, PFunk engineer Jim Callon assembled an EP entitled Jams From The Heart, which contained unreleased 1975 demo sessions. Featuring some of Hazel's most incendiary playing, the EP has been added to this Rhino Handmade edition in its entirety.LAST 2 COPIES
