Electronic - Twisted Tenderness. CD. (Parlophone Records - 4983452) Third album from the side project of Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr and New Order frontman, Bernard Sumner. Released in 1999, this features Marr in rolicking form, really leading the album with his care free riffs and highly melodical phrasings over the busy synth backing. As ever Sumner offers his slightly humbled sounding vocals and breezy lyrics. Certainly not in the same league as their real jobs, but it isn't really meant to be a comparison to such groundbreaking and defining acts. This is music for music's sake, made by peope still in love with their jobs.
