Eric Andersen - Violets Of Dawn. CD. (Vanguard Masters - VMD 79539)

18-track CD compilation of the best of Andersen's recordings for the Vanguard label in the early-mid 60s. A contemporary of Phil Ochs, Tom Paxton, Gordon Lightfoot and of course Dylan, but of a less political and more romantic bent (oo-er) This may have been something to do with the fact that he was better-looking than any of them, and got laid more!! Includes two rare album tracks never released on album before except for the various artists compilation 'The Original New Folks'. All 16 of the others are taken from his excellent Vanguard output.

Eric Andersen - More Hits From Tin Can Alley. LP. (Vanguard Records - VSD 79271)

4th album from 1968 by this Greenwich Village US folkie who was born in Norway. Very much in the Dylan mould with electric guitar, cryptic, protest lyrics etc. The album has a loose folky feel with an eclectic down-home rural feel (much like Dylan from the same period) and this reissue is housed in a thick card sleeve on 180 gram vinyl with inserts.

Eric Andersen - 'Bout Changes 'n' Things Take 2. LP. (Vanguard Records - VSD 79236)

Third album from the Norwegian born US folkie who wrote the superb Violets Of Dawn - that appears on this disc and was covered by the Daily Flash amongst others. If you know that song you will want this album, which is full of similar material in a Tim Hardin/Dylan folk-rock vein. A solid album. LP has an American style hard card sleeve and is pressed on 180 gram vinyl

Eric Andersen - A Country Dream. CD. (Vanguard Records - VMD 6540)

Folk singer that originally came from Norway, who settled in Greenwich Village in the late sixties. This is his fifth album and it's a fine combination of country/blues/folk styles, with a superb cover version of "Dock Of The Bay". Great songs and production.....mini gatefold LP package....

Eric Andersen - 'Bout Changes And Things. CD. (Vanguard Masters - VMD 79206)

The second album (originally released 1965) from this popular US folksmith, featuring just vocal, acoustic guitar and harmonica. There was, as some of you might know, an electric version ('Bout Changes And Things Take Two') recorded some years later at the height of the folk rock boom, but for collectors this is the one to search out- which is why this midprice CD reissue is so welcome. Superb.
