Fall - Words Of Expectation: BBC Sessions. Dble CD.
(Castle - CMEDD696)
No band ever had a more loyal supporter than John Peel’s undying affection for the Fall, which has sometimes seemed like the only thing standing between Mark E Smith’s unruly crew and commercial oblivion. So it’s no surprise that the band have taped more Peel sessions than any other act, or that this collection of 1978-83 radio shots showcases Manchester’s mavericks at their best. | ![]() |

Fall - Totale's Turns (It's Now Or Never). CD.
(Castle - CMRCD882)
The Fall's first live album from 1980 was a confrontational live classic, as Mark E. Smith baited his audience, sabotaged their expectations, and drove his band into jagged exhibitions of conceptual noisemaking. This is The Fall at their rowdy, uncompromising best. | ![]() |

Fall - Slates/A Part Of America Therein, 1981. CD.
(Essential - DELETED***CMRCD)
Two snapshots of this uncompromising new wave band at their peak, in 1981. The Slates EP took the early Fall as close as they'd come to pop. It's CD partner A Part Of America Therein, was a compelling US live set, dominated by the majestic "The N.W.R.A". | ![]() |

Fall - Slates. CD.
(Castle - CMRCD1006)
Originally released as a 10" mini album by Rough Trade in 1981, Slates featured six tracks with unusually semi-decent production, a first in the band's history. In-keeping with the period in which it was released, this extended version adds tracks that were originally recorded for a BBC Radio One John Peel session that took place in March that year, as well as rare single tracks 'Lie Dream Of A Casino Soul' and 'Fantastic Life'. | ![]() |

Fall - Rough Trade Singles Collection. LP.
(Earmark - 40014)
By the time The Fall arrived on Rough Trade's doorstep in 1980, Mark E. Smith & co were already well known for their unique brand of disjointedly angular pop punk, having left behind a steady trickle of inimitably brilliant singles and LPs since the band's inception in 1977. During their roughly 3 years with the label, the band proved itself to be at the height of its creativity, releasing a flurry of singles that included some of their best work to date. Includes 'Totally Wired', 'Ludd Gang', 'Putta Block', 'City Hobgoblins', 'How I Wrote Elastic Man', 'Kicker Conspiracy' and more. 180 gram vinyl LP with printed inner sleeve and PVC dustjacket | ![]() |

Fall - Room To Live. CD.
(Castle - CMRCD1135)
Remastered and expanded release of the fifth full-length studio album from cantankerous Mark E Smith and his Salford-based group of malcontents. Very much a topical album of the time, featuring references to the Falklands War and the start of Thatcher's 'North South Divide' which polarised British life. Standout track is the horror-themed 'Hard Life In The Country' which ends with Smith's house being beseiged by torch-bearing Hammer-style villagers. This issue features five bonus live tracks, featuring versions of tunes from the album alongside 'Words of Expectation' and the wonderfully titled 'Town Called Crappy' Bile has never sounded so attractive. This product can be found in : Indie / College Rock / Grunge, Punk / New Wave, 80's, 90's & 00's - Rock, 80's, 90's & 00's - Punk

Fall - Perverted By Language. Dble CD.
(Castle - CMQDD1134)
Another landmark release for the misanthropic Mr Smith and his minions- a landmark in that this was the release that introduced wife Brix to the band on keys and vocals, thus also introducing the band to the hitherto unexplored world of melody. As a result, 'Hotel Bloedel' 'Eat Y 'self Fitter' and 'Tempo House' all bear the stamp of a band in transition to a new period, whilst remaining as uncompromisingly true to their leader's vision as possible. Disc 1 features all 8 tracks from the original album PLUS four bonus tracks only previously available on 7" single AND a rare outtake: disc 2 of this expanded and remastered edition includes remixes, live tracks and of course some of those infamous Peel sessions.Due In: 16/05/2005 | ![]() |

Fall - Middle Class Revolt. Dble CD.
(Castle/Sanctuary - CMQDD1226)
Smithy and the Northerners' mid-90s masterpiece, railing against everything the leftie intelligentsia was celebrating about British (and in particular, Mancunian) life at the time. In fact, like all Fall albums, it's pretty much a rant against everything- and, apart from the obvious and grunge-baiting 'Hey! Student!', all delivered in the trademark Smith language of cantankerous historical science fiction, somewhere between Andy Capp, AJP Taylor and Asimov. The extra disc features oodles of Peel sessions from 1994, plus the single '15 Ways' and various remixes of album tracks. Nice to see it back in the racks again- although I'm sure our hero doesn't share our opinions. . . This product can be found in : Indie / College Rock / Grunge, Punk / New Wave, 80's, 90's & 00's - Garage, 80's, 90's & 00's - Rock, 80's, 90's & 00's - Punk, Experimental / Outsider Music

Fall - Live In London 1980: The Legendary Chaos Tape. CD.
(Castle - CMRCD1005)
Mark E. Smith’s band were at their most uncompromising on this classic live recording, taped in front of a not always supportive audience at the Acklam Hall under London’s Westway. Across a set of songs mostly drawn from the Grotesque and Slates albums - and now augmented by three bonus tracks - the Fall were at their curmudgeonly, chaotic best. | ![]() |

Fall - Live At The Witch Trials (Expanded Deluxe Edition). Dble CD.
(Castle - CMQDD847)
The Fall’s 1979 debut album sounds so timeless that it’s difficult to imagine it can be 25 years old. On the Step Forward studio sessions that make up the first half of this double-CD reissue, the band emerged fully formed as a mouthpiece for Mark E. Smith, the least compromising performer in British rock history. Taking in early singles, the Bingo Masters Breakout EP, two BBC radio sessions and a fascinating 1978 live set, this is a comprehensive retrospective of an institution’s first steps. | ![]() |

Fall - It's The New Thing: The Step Forward Years. CD.
(Castle - CMQCD697)
Even in the tumult of the punk explosion, nobody sounded like the Fall. As this collection of their earliest singles and album cuts proves, Manchester’s grumpiest and most uncompromising band knew who they were from the start - driven, compelling, and with a sharper vision of Britain’s late 70s decline than any of their rivals. 25 years later, they are both the definitive sound of their era, and a timeless rock’n’roll band. | ![]() |

Fall - Infotainment Scan. Dble CD.
(Sanctuary/Castle - CMQDD1227)
Reissue of 1993 album from Salford misanthropes, which this time (one of the only times) attempted to temper the funeral with a little bit of levity- hence the covers of Sister Sledge's 'Lost In Music' and Steve Bent's 'I'm Going To Spain' which have to be believed- although 'Paranoia Man In Shit Room' and 'Glam Racket' are just as painful as you expect the very best Fall material to be. CD2 adds sveral Peel session tracks, Mark Goodier sessions, their Permananet Records single release, and outtakes and alternate versions, although whether or not one wants three outtakes of 'Lost In Music' is a moot point (this writer doesn't!!) One can't argue with the quality of the music though- prime Fall at their maddest, if somewhat less bleak than usual. This product can be found in : Indie / College Rock / Grunge, Punk / New Wave, 80's, 90's & 00's - Garage, 80's, 90's & 00's - Punk

Fall - In A Hole/Liverpool 78. CD.
(Voiceprint - VP241019CD)
'In A Hole' is considered to be the ultimate Fall live album, both in quality of recording and performance. 'Liverpool 78' captures the band's early sound back when they were on first name terms with most of the crowd. Both fully remastered.. A superb 2 on 1 indeed.. |
|
Fall - In A Hole. Dble CD.
(Sanctuary/Castle - CMQDD1225)
Formed in 1976 in Salford, the Fall have never compromised one iota of their integrity, nor have they ever given in remotely to commercial pressures- their only hit singles (despite often being covers) were as difficult to listen to as half their album tracks, and their live performances as incendiary as their studio work.. This live album, recorded in New Zealand in the mid 80s, is an example of how brutal and magnificent they could be on their day: the bonus tracks, all taken from dates on the same tour, including versions of the likes of 'Slates' and 'Who Makes The Nazis' are excellent. This product can be found in : Indie / College Rock / Grunge, Punk / New Wave, 80's, 90's & 00's - Garage, 80's, 90's & 00's - Punk

Fall - Hoff Alter Banhoff 1981. Dble CD.

Remastered live recording from 1981 German tour, a double CD's worth of material capturing an entire concert comprised largely of material from Dragnet, Live At The Witch Trials and Grotesque. Fall - Grotesque (After The Gramme). CD.
(Castle - CMRCD883)
The Fall's first album from 1980, continued Mark E. Smith's assault on predictability which further stripped down their sound a couple of notches. A radical, ragged and political album with is permeated with the very essence of British post-punk. | ![]() |

Fall - Dragnet. CD.
(Castle - CMRCD848)
Hard on the heels of Live At The Witch Trials came this second studio album from 1979, featuring classic Mark E. Smith songs such as ‘Psykick Dancehall’ and ‘Muzorewi’s Daughter’. This deluxe reissue adds the period singles ‘Rowche Rumble’ and ‘Fiery Jack’, plus some fascinating out-takes from the ‘Rowche Rumble’ session tapes. | ![]() |

Fall - Fall Heads Roll. CD.
(Slogan/Sanctuary - SLOCD003)
Brand new (2005) studio album from the ever-unpredictable, uncompromising and angry Mark E Smith and his partners in crime. Already hailed as their finest work for over 15 years, this is very bit as Fall-like as one could expect- and it includes a song called "Early Days Of Channel Fuehrer", just in case anyone was in any doubt. There's also a cover version of the Move's "I Can Hear The Grass Grow" that is practically unrecognisable to anyone who knows the original (there's the mark of genius for you!!) You read it here first- aah. | ![]() |

Fall - A Part Of America Therein, 1981. CD.

Fall - Cerebral Caustic. CD.
(Sanctuary/Castle - CDMQDD1299)
The follow up to 'Middle Class Revolt'- another year in Smithworld and things are still infuriating!! Even more scathing than its predecessor (particularly on 'Life Just Bounces' and 'North West Fashion Show') and also an album of historical importance: the first to feature the returning Brix Smith, the last to feature the departing Craig Scanlon. Also includes a cover of Zappa's "I'm Not Satisfied"- how apt!! At time of writing, bonus tracks still unknown. This product can be found in : Indie / College Rock / Grunge, Punk / New Wave, 80's, 90's & 00's - Garage, 80's, 90's & 00's - Rock, 80's, 90's & 00's - Punk, Experimental / Outsider Music

Fall - Live At The Garage, London, 20 April 2002. CD.
(Hip Priest - HIPP016CD)
Live At The Garage was recorded live at the well known London venue of the same name in April 2002.The performance here features a number of songs from the band's then recent album Are You Are Missing Winner (Kick The Can, Bourgeois Town and My Ex Class Mates Kid’s). As with all Fall shows the performance is built around the enigmatic Mark E Smith who turns in a stunning performance throughout. Fall - Punkcast 2004: Live At The Knitting Factory, New York, 9 Apr. CD.
(Hip Priest - HIPP015CD)
The Fall appeared at The Knitting Factory in New York on the 9th of April 2004 and this album consists of the audio portion of the show that was released subsequently on DVD. The set list was as with all Fall concerts varied and full of surprises with a couple of interesting cover versions with the Move’s I Can Hear The Grass Grow and a cover of the UK one hit wonder Mr Bloe instrumental, Groovin’ With Mr. Bloe. A more interesting cover was that of the Four Seasons Walk Like A Man which, bearing in mind Mark E Smith had recently broken his hip and had to perform the concert whilst on crutches, may have been an a fine example of Mark E Smith’s warped sense of humour. | ![]() |

Fall - Reformation Post TLC. Dble LP.
(Slogan/Sanctuary - SLODV007)
The Fall are widely regarded as one of the greatest punk and post-punk bands of all time. In a career spanning nearly 30 years, Mark E Smith and his ever-evolving band of likeminded individuals have created some of themost interesting, cutting edge and influential guitar records. Like many cult bands they have influenced a new generation of underground and alternative acts making The Fall as relevant as they have always been. This 2007 double LP studio album sees the Fall return to their very best. Mark E Smith's vocals sneer over garage rock guitar and a pummelling rhythm section.Housed in a single sleeve, | ![]() |
