Fastway - Fastway/All Fired Up. CD. (B.G.O. Records - BGOCD484) Two albums of thumpin' good time bluesy hard rock'n'roll from 1983 and 1984. Fastway, something of a Brit rock supergroup, were the result of three seasoned veterans- former Motorhead axe shredder 'Fast' Eddie Clarke, ex-Humble Pie stixman Jerry Shirley and one-time Streetwalker Charlie McCracken- moving into the NWOBHM, which had embraced them as heroes. The eponymous debut was and remains incredibly remeniscent of prime Zeppelin (frontman Dave King's wailing vocal and mouth harp playing bearing a close resemblance to Plant): the second is also cut from this cloth, but is more 80's sounding in terms of its production and songwriting. Either way, these are two albums that have gone unheard for too long, and this 2 fer one CD pack does the job a treat.
