Carol Of Harvest - Carol Of Harvest. LP.
(Label: Guerssen Records, Cat.No: GUESS037)

Click for large image Germany, 1978. How these lads could record an album like this in 1978??? Absolutely early 70’s sounding progressive & psychedelic folk-rock masterpiece of the first order!!! Entirely sung in English by an incredibly young female vocalist, Beate Krause, only 16 when recording!!!! Long tracks with excellent, killer acid guitar solos, and moog! If you like groups like Mellow Candle or Pentangle, no doubt you need to purchase this one fast. Often praised as 'the best prog-folk record ever', we don’t know if such a thing is true, but we can definitely say this is an absolute classic of the genre. Besides that, the original label pressed only 200 copies of the lp, imagine how hard to find this is so here you have a new vinyl reissue of this wonderful record, with killer remastered sound, insert with photos and linernotes, licensed by the band and pressed in a very limited edition of 700 copies

Let it work its magic upon you.

C.O.B. - Moyshe Mcstiff And The Tartan Lancers Of The Sacred Heart. Dble LP.
(Label: Sunbeam Music, Cat.No: SBR2LP5029)

Click for large image Double LP version of the 1972 album by ex- I.S.B. member Clive Palmer and friends, is one of the very best of its kind. Despite it's Eastern mystical leanings,'Moyshe McStiff' is a reference to the Scots-Jewish lineage of one of the band members, and the 'Tartan Lancer' was their local off licence!! Nevertheless this remains one of THE key albums of the acid-folk boom, much loved by everyone from Stephen Malkmus of Pavement to David Tibet of Current 93, who covered 'The Song Of Solomon' on their 'Seven Seals' EP. Other key tracks include 'Chain Of Love' 'Brown Eyed One' and 'Martha And Mary', some of the most beautiful music of their era, and this edition adds their very rare (and stylistically out of place) single 'Blue Morning/Bones' from 1974, which leans towards reggae!! Presented here as a double LP,with a whole extra disc's worth ofbonus material (including both sidesof their rare 45), as well as a deluxegatefold sleeve, making it the mostcomprehensive edition of the albumever assembled.

Proby's hairdresser! Sure, all these tracks have a psychy feel, and some of them would pack a dance floor, but really they're more concerned with harmony and pop sensibility. So here are 20 dazzling tracks from the UK late 60s scene. All very melodic and refreshing.
