With alternate versions of "My Fathers Name Is Dad" plus other gems this is contains twenty tracks of essential psychedelia to rank alongside Kaleidoscope, Blossom Toes or Tomorrow. Dave Lambert later went on to further success with the Strawbs.

Fire - Magic Shoemaker (Castle). CD. (Castle - CMRCD620) Remastered and re-packaged although still retaining the original sleeve this magical sought after 1970 concept album is a glorious fairytale acid trip on a coach journey composed and narrated by David Lambert. The album contains the fantastic opening cut "Children of the Imagination" and the R&B tinged "I Can See The Sky" along with the acid experimental passages that crop up through the album.

Fire - Magic Shoemaker (Si-Wan). CD. (Si Wan - SRMC 1023) Now deleted in the UK this is an official Korean CD reissue available of the sole LP by the great UK '60's psych band Fire. Essentially a concept album based around a fairy tale, it features some choice psychy tracks in a late '60's style. The band included Dave Lambert later of the Strawbs.

Fire - My Fathers Name Is Dad (En El Nom Del Pare - 45s, Demos & Ac. LP. (Guerssen Records - GUESS038) Well-known British group leaded by Dave Lambert, Fires’s 45 "Father’s Name is Dad" (Decca, 1967) is considered a classic of the freakbeat genre, having been included in uncountable compilations since the '80s. The band is also remembered for their sole full-length album, "The Magic Shoemaker", a perfect example of the transition from psychedelia to progressive rock, in 1970. But before releasing this album, the band recorded a number of demos and acetates, ranging from freakbeat to psychedelic and early prog-rock. This compilation puts together on one LP a collection of their 45s, demos & acetates (exactly like the mighty label Tenth Planet did in the mid 90’s), which you can now get before it sells out! .
