Firebird - No 3. LP.
(SPV - SPV08574951)
The talented Bill Steer returns with a staggering collection of new material which is so diverse, dynamic, and rooted in grooves you could drive a truck through it!This is bluesy hard rock, the kind of music that hasn't been heard on British soil (or anywhere else for that matter) since the early 70's. Shades of Cream crop up on tracks like "Station" while the ghost of Mountain (circa 71) piledrives home on "Tumbling Down" and Free spring to mind on "Hard Hearted" this really is another classic in the Steer Canon. | ![]() |

Firebird - Firebird. CD.
(Rise Above Records - CDRISE 31)
Great new heavy rock album by a UK band ! Stunning early '70's styled rock in the tradition of Jody Grind, Cream, Hendrix and Ten Years After. Loads of great guitar work and swirling Hammond organ with cool songs and vocals. It could have come out on Harvest or Vertigo in the '70's. The band is led by the guitarist of Carcass !! Weird !! Buy this ! | ![]() |

Firebird - Deluxe. CD.
(Music For Nations - CDMFN 267)
Stunning second album by Bill Steer's band Firebird (and yes that is the axe man from Napalm Death !!) Sounding like an early '70's heavy guitar prog monster in the tradition of Zeppelin, Cream, Purple, may Blitz this has some great guitar work with searing solos and swirling Hammond organ. The production, execution, and packaging is so convincing that this could easily have been recorded in 1972! Very cool! | ![]() |

Firebird - Hot Wings. CD.
(Rise Above Records - RISECD081)
The return of Napalm Death/Carcass founding member and guitar virtuoso Bill Steer. After the demise of Carcass, Firebird became the vehicle he uses to vent his anger. Recorded and mixed in eight days onto analogue tape, it doesn't get much rawer than this. No need for automation, click tracks or auto tune here, this is all note perfect rootsy rifferama. Includes: "Play The Fool", "Flying Blind" and "Good Times." | ![]() |
