Flying Burrito Brothers - Gilded Palace Of Sin. CD. (Demon Records - EDCD191)

Byrds side project featuring Gram Parsons, Sneeky Pete, Chris Hillman and Chris Ethridge. The album from 1968 forged the fusion between rock and country so beautifully it influenced generation upon generation and virtually invented the blueprint for country-rock. The album is chocked full of the distorted swoops of Sneaky Pete Kleinow's fuzztone steel guitar providing a perfect bridge between country and psychedelic rock,

Flying Burrito Brothers - Honky Tonk Nights. Dble CD. (Music Avenue - 250160)

Honky Tonk Nights is a double album collection of which disc one was recorded in the mid-seventies, and features pedal steel master "Sneaky Pete Kleinow and bass player Chris Ethridge, two of the original band members initially recruited by Parsons and Hillman, and thus a guarantee of authenticity. The two original Burritos are joined by drummer Gene Parsons, another BYRD-escapee, vocalist and guitar player Joel Scott Hill, formerly with Canned Heat, and Floyd 'Gib' Guilbeau who plays guitar and fiddle, and is also an excellent singer. Disc two features the recordings that, in 1980, led to the band being signed to Curb Records and are very rare. Besides Kleinow and Guilbeau they feature yet another ex-Byrd, bassist Skip Battin, and the talented vocalist, guitarist and songwriter John Belland, who went on to lead the Burritos until 1987.

Flying Burrito Brothers - Gilded Palace Of Sin. LP.

180 gram vinyl re-issue of the much praised 1969 album, The Gilded Palace Of Sin is the debut release from one of the most influential country-rock outfits of all time. Helmed by the legendary Gram Parsons with help from ex-Byrd Chris Hillman and L.A. pedal steel maverick "Sneaky" Pete Kleinow, The Burritos' debut features "Sin City" (later covered by Parsons compatriot Emmylou Harris), "Wheels," "Christine's Tune" and other classics. Forget your Eagles and your Poco, this is the real L.A. country-rock, or as Gram himself called it, "Cosmic American Music."
