Though technically still going after over twenty line up changes, this is the original, early '50's line up. Definitely for fans of the Beach Boys and Mamas And Papas, their complicated, pure harmonies reminiscent of barbershop quartets and Glenn Miler's Modernaires were the fore runner for most vocal groups associated with truly great 60's pop and in his own words, a turning point in Brian Wilsons life. Collected here are their early hits, high quality album tracks and raritites. Most of these tracks are out of print and are highly collectable. An essential chapter in early pop. Four Freshmen - First Affair / Voices In Fun. CD. (EMI - 5416672) Known as being the favourite band of a young Brain Wilson, their influence upon the mid '60's Beach Boys output is clear. Their complex harmonies and woodwind arrangements sound marvellous on this remastered, crystal clear two albums on one disc. Twenty four tracks in total.

Four Freshmen - Graduation Day. CD. (El - ACMEM122CD) The greatest vocal group of all time. one whose influence on both contemporary jazz and rock is impossible to overestimate. It is easy to hear the Beach Boys (and any of the sixties vocal groups) in any one of these recordings. Twenty two tracks compilation featuring: "For All We Know", "I Remember You", "Someone Like You" and "Jo Ann."
