Future Sounds Of London - Accelerator. Dble CD. (Jumpin' & Pumpin' - CDTOT2X)

Re-release of 1991 debut album by the FSOL. Very much of it's time, there is a strong techno / rave feel to the album, but definitely the odd darker effect that hints at their later work and a move beyond the acid synths towards the emerging Big Beat movement. A great sense of euphoria and energy has been carefully created here by the duo.

Future Sounds Of London - Dead Cities. CD. (Virgin Records - CDV2814)

The last release for the electronic duo in the '90's, Dead Cities is yet another change in direction. Far more beat orientated than their previous albums and the lyrical themes and atmospherere are notably darker in this (at times) overwhelming musical adventure. A mixture of rage, depression and finally hope rear their head on haunted vocal samples and ambient synths. Highly recommended, modern electronica at its very best.

Future Sounds Of London - Life Forms. Dble CD. (Virgin Records - CDV2722)

Second full length album by FSOL. This nineteen track double evolves from their debut with one of the most experimental techno releases of the '90's. Highly intricate with minute detail and subtle changes, it feels like one of those albums you have to hear in one go to really get what they are trying to do. Too upbeat to be considered just an ambient album, their serene melodic synths and analog drum beats create a haunting atmosphere that float by your ears in a truly fascinating way.
