Gal Costa - India. LP. (Philips - 6349077)

Not quite as freaky as the 1969 album this 1973 release has some great orchestral arrangements and features Gilberto Gil amongst others. A laid back exotic affair mixing tribal percussion with more sophisticated arrangements and of course Gals soaring vocals. The cover features Gal in wild bikini shots !

Gal Costa - Gal Costa. LP. (Philips - R765.068L)

Exact reissue of the classic Tropicalia album. Part of the late '60's Tropicalia explosion (which mixed Western psych pop with Brazilian styles) the debut album by Brazil's favourite songstress is an amazing listening experience. Sixties pop mixes with oddly unexpected fuzzed-up wah-wah guitars, Brazilian styles and lush exotic orchestral arrangements to create a unique and memorable brew. Weird and very different!!
