(V2 - VVR1034432) Double album comprising one disc of re-recordings from the leftist punk-funk aggregation's seminal 'Entertainment' 'Solid Gold' and 'Songs Of The Free' albums, and another where they literally 'return the gift' as the title says- by handing over their songs to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Ladytron, The Rakes, The Dandy Warhols, and dance producer Paul Epworth. Shame they obviously can't be bothered to make a proper new album, but this should be interesting enough. . .

(Virgin Records - 596 5412) Gang Of Four produced some of the most exhilarating & lasting music of the early English post-punk era of 1978-1983. Fuelled by the fury of punk rock & radical political theory, they welded the two, as demonstrated by this 20 track collection.

Gang Of Four - Entertainment. CD. (EMI - CZ541) Seminal New Wave innovators, their 1979 debut album features some of their best work. For it's sheer exciting pace, unusual lyrical subject, mixture of musical styles and the memorable songs, it stands as a classic of the era. Listen to every punky group who have made a record since and you will hear elements of the Four in there somewhere. The original twelve track album has been expanded with three bonus tracks: "Outside The Trains Don't Run On Time", "He'd Send In The Army", "It's Her Factory."
