Gants - I Wonder. CD. (RPM Bam Caruso - RPMBC202)

From Bam Caruso/RPM comes this superb 30 track retrospective, with over 70 mins of stirring US '60s pop/rock from this Mississippi outfit. Includes their wonderful chiming Beatles' influenced "I Wonder" and "One Track Mind", plus the pulsing "Smoke Rings" and a whole slew of other tracks that are kind of a mix between Paul Revere and 'Rubber Soul'. Great liner notes too!

Gants - Introducing. CD. (Sundazed - SC 6223)

Never heard before sessions recorded at Sam Philips studios in Nashville, 1964. This teenage group, despite coming from the Mississippi Delta, had a desire to play Merseybeat, obviously inspired by the success of that group with Ringo in it. These sessions stem from a time before they signed to Liberty and includes Beatles and Rolling Stones covers as well as their own versions of the Beat sound. A fascinating insight into teir early career.
