Genesis - From Genesis To Revelation. Dble CD.
(Snapper - 142952)
1969 saw the band release its first album, and on this album you get all the 60's effect's like phasing, sweeping strings, panning etc and is a really good example of psychedelia from the UK (forget what the band became). If you imagine the best and most psyche parts of the Moody Blues,World of Oz, Bee Gees etc you start to get the picture. The great thing as well is that Phil Collins hasn't even joined the band yet! The 2 disc set of this album includes demo tracks and single tracks and over 20 minutes of an interview with the producer, Jonathan King. NOW DELETED, GRAB THIS WHILE YOU CAN. | ![]() |

Genesis - Calling All Stations. CD.
(Charisma - GENCD6)
Replacing Phil Collins as lead singer with ex Stiltskin front man Ray Wilson was seen as sacriligious by many long time Genesis fans. (Where were they when Gabriel left?) However this 1997 album shows a continuation of the basic band ethos of exploratory rock music with a commercial edge and did the band's sales figures no harm at all (yes it did, they split up!!- Hindsight Ed). | ![]() |

Genesis - 1983-1998. 5-dble cd box set.
(Virgin America - CDBOX 13)
Sumptuous box set of the reissues contains Genesis’ most successful albums (selling over 40 million on CD alone): Genesis (1983) Invisible Touch (1986) We Can’t Dance (1991) Calling All Stations (1997) The first three all reached the top spot of the UK album chart during the time of their original release. We Can’t Dance marks the last studio album with Phil Collins on vocal duties while Calling All Stations is the only Genesis album with vocalist Ray Wilson. The material on these albums was created during a very busy and creatively proactive time for the band, with Phil Collins pioneering his successful solo career and Mike Rutherford forming the hugely successful ‘Mike & The Mechanics’, while both still attended to their duties with Genesis. Previous to their current reunion tour, the band had played 1433 live shows, to a total of 14,883,739 people. With each album containing DVD extras, a treasure trove of footage has been plundered to reveal never before seen extras plus brand new interviews specifically recorded for these reissues. The ‘Genesis’ extras contains the never before seen ‘Mama Tour Rehearsal’ footage from 1983. Director Jim Yukich discovered this in his personal archive. The extras on Invisible Touch contain a Behind The Scenes of the Land Of Confusion video. This 8-minute, 43-second video was created from the personally filmed footage by Phil Collins and Jim Yukich of the puppeteers and puppets at work, and has never been seen outside of the Genesis family. Also included on the Invisible Touch DVD is the Old Grey Whistle Test . Rock Around The Clock show from 1986. Featuring the rarely seen Tony Banks video ‘This Is Love’ from his solo album ‘The Fugitive’, the programme has not been seen since it’s original broadcast.
