Gerardo Manuel And El Humo - Apocallypsis. CD. (REPSYCHLED - REPSYCH 1002)

On this mysterious Latin influenced psych/hard rock CD there are 6 original tunes and 8 eclectic cover versions (Grand Funk, Question Mark and the Mysterians, Edwards Hand!) with a west coast acid hard rock flavour, and that extra special latin spice (in places much like Traffic Sound's stunning "Virgin" album). Gerardo's vocals here are the strongest of his career, with the electric guitars double tracked to produce the stereo effect. Coco Pomar plays like Grand Funk's bassist and Puro Fuentes' drumming is powerful to say the least. After Peruvian garage band Los Shains broke up, "Pico" formed Los Nuevos Shains. Gerardo and the rest of the crew formed a band called (St. Thomas) Pepper Smelter. After both those bands split, Gerardo formed a band called Gerardo Manuel & El Humo: on this, their first album, all the electric guitars are played by "Pico". Official release includes 4 page insert with photos and lyrics, taken from the original mastertapes. First ever appearance in CD format with 4 bonus non LP-tracks. The artwork is a replica of the original album with the fold out cover.
