An all out stoned naked hippy freak out featuring Terry Reid, Fairport Convention, Family, Melanie, Arthur Brown and Traffic. Pretty much essential to any UK '70's freak/psych rock collection. Unfortunately quality of this transfer is comparable with video but it's the only edition available. PAL stereo region free.

Glastonbury Fayre - Various. Dble CD + DVD. (Akarma - AK367TCD) Finally here's a CD edition of the original Glastonbury Fayre, a forerunner of the more commercial Festival we know today. The original event was a psychedelic freak-out celebration of the UK counterculture that took place in the depths of the Somerset countryside in 1972. Bands performing included the Pink Fairies, the Edgar Broughton Band, Mighty Baby, Gong, Brinsley Schwarz, and Skin Alley. The triple album that resulted included live and studio performances by bands that appeared on the bill as well as donated recordings by bands that were unable to appear (i.e. the Grateful Dead). Not only does this package feature some great music it also includes a DVD of the film of the event with performances by Terry Reid with David Lindley on steel guitar, Fairport Convention, Family, Arthur Brown and Kingdom Come, Quintessence, and Traffic, as well as footage taken among the extremely spaced-out crowd.
