This CD contains an assortment of '60s material by Bond with various musicians who passed through the ranks like Jack Bruce, Dick Heckstall-Smith,John McLaughlin,Ginger Baker etc.Originally released in 1970 as a double LP it's highlights include "It's Not Goodbye", "Springtime in the City" & the 10 minute "Grass is Greener" and the off the wall "Ho Ho Country Kicking Blues".
After Graham Bond moved to the US in the mid '60's having lost Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce from his band to Cream, he recorded two weird moody albums in 1968 for the US label Pulsar. This is the first one and it's a spooky occult tinged keyboard/mellotron led collection of bluesy, jazzy, proggy soulful rock . Graham Bond was obsessed with the occult and this album is certainly infected by that obsession.
The second and album from 1968 recorded by Graham Bond whilst living in the USA features Harvey Mandel and Harvey Brooks. It's another release filled with spooky mellotron, hammond and occult references. Dark psychedelic progressive jazz blues with a dangerous edge. Includes four bonus tracks.
Originally released in '70 and '71 respectively, these were the first two albums of an attempted triology thwarted by Bond's untimely death in 1974. Beautiful jazz rock, inspired greatly by Bond's involvement in white magic and Celtic mysticism (for the first album) and Eastern, particularly Hindu and Aquarian, mysticism (for the second). Originally released on the esteemed Vertigo label both these albums brim over with mantras, rituals, and improvisational pieces that should interest any seeker of progressive musical enlightenment.
The first album by the late Graham Bond, remastered in a mini replica design. Inspired greatly by Bond's involvement in white magic and Celtic mysticism, this was the first of an intended trilogy that was never completed. Lyrically, there are extracts from occult texts set to the Band's brilliant experimental musical backdrop. Limited to 3000 copies in a replica sleeve as per the Vertigo issue. This reissue features the rare "Water Water" single and its b-side "Twelve Gates To The City" as bonus tracks.Limited edition that reverts to a jewel case after the initial pressing.
