Grand Funk Railroad - On Time (Remastered). CD. (Capitol Records - 5395022) Excellent 24-Bit Digitally Remastered debut 1969 album from the legendary heavy rock trio from Detroit. This album includes future live staples "Are You Ready" and "Into The Sun" along with eight other tracks. Ripping lead guitar and a rhythm section that holds a heavy, steady groove. This band went on to fill stadium's and on the evidence of this album it's no small wonder. This edition contains 2 unreleased bonus tracks in the shape of "High On A Horse" & "Heartbreaker" (original versions) and an expanded booklet and new liner notes.

These perfomances come straight from Detroit, Chicago and Shea Stadium on the band's enormously (and we really mean enormously) successful 1971 tour. Captured in all their mega-stadium excess the band extend beyond breaking point versions of "T.N.U.C." (nearly 18 minutes), "Inside Looking Out" (over 15 minutes, including pot rant intro) ten minutes of "Into the Sun," and their mammoth take on the Stones' "Gimme Shelter".

(Capitol Records - 5393802) First issued in 1970, this was the second major label release for the trio who emerged from Detroit and stormed American stadium's of the '70's. This is the album that features "Sin's a Good Man's Brother" later covered by Monster Magnet. It also features "Mean Mistreater" and "Get It Together" along with the massive long title track with excellent orchestration and is regarded as one of the best Grand Funk albums. Heavy rock with deep heavy soul. Now even better with three live bonus tracks, plus an alternate version of "Mean Mistreater".

(Capitol Records - 7243 8 21935 2) Double live CD from 1997 by the re-formed giants of stadium rock, here joined by , a four-piece horn section led by the Silver Bullet Band's Alto Reed and, on occasion, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and it's a wild performance. This Bosnian Aid concert includes all of their old favourites and once again shows that the band have lost none of their power and magic.This double CD captures the bulk of Grand Funk's set, featuring 20 songs and it's stunningly recorded for the enjoyment to continue in your own home.Keep the Funk alive.

Grand Funk Railroad - Born To Die. CD. (Capitol Records - 5804982) Remaster of the the band's darkest album from 1976. Originally this was intended to be the last GFR album (although the band reunited to record the album 'Good Singin' Good Playin' just so they could work with Frank Zappa) The album has an edge as the effects of touring and recording for many years had taken their toll. This album at times (lyrically) could rival the darkest moments of Black Sabbath! and the production is particularly solid as the instrumental performances are tight. The band even tried their hand at country rock on the beautiful "Sally". Strong guitar workouts and sharp rhythms made the Funk feel alive. Includes 3 Bonus tracks and an expanded booklet to round the package off.

This is the ultimate collection featuring tracks from all of their albums as well as a whole host of previously unreleased cuts including material from Terry Knight and The Pack (pre-Grand Funk) Both the studio and live cuts all show why this band were so highly regarded during the Seventies, displaying as they did a seamless blend of funk and heavy, high energy rock and roll.
