One of the most upfront of the US eighties Paisley Underground, Green on Red came across like Neil Young with a REALLY BIG chip on his shoulder. Driven by some neat lead guitar courtesy of Chuck Prophet, this compilation contains many never before heard superb early rare recordings, demos and live cuts. Roll on Volume Two!

2-CD deluxe digipak set is an expanded version of Green On Red's 1989 fifth full-length. Dan Stuart and Chuck Prophet meet legendary eccentric producer and session musician Jim Dickinson, known for his work ranging from Big Star and the Replacements to the Rolling Stones and Aretha Franklin, at Ardent Studios to create a definitive Memphis record. Original iconographic Americana cover art photography by William Eggleston forms the basis of this expanded deluxe packaged set which includes a second disc of outtakes and alternate versions. Detailed liner notes by Mitch Myers.

Green On Red - BBC Sessions. CD. (Maida Vale / Cooking Vinyl - MVRCD002)

One of the most upfront of the US eighties Paisley Underground, Green on Red came across like Neil Young with a REALLY BIG chip on his shoulder. These BBC sessions were recorded between 1982 and 1992 at Maida Vale for Andy Kershaw, Richard Skinner, Saturday Sequence Johnny Walker and Bob Harris. This is the first time these nineteen tracks have been commercially available and include various experiments and cover versions as well as the band's own material.
