Booklet contains original LP artwork, lyrics, pictures of all relevant singles sleeves and detailed linernotes by "No More Heroes" author Alex Ogg. Bonus tracks: Africa, Flying Scotsman (12"), The Hop, The Preacher (live), Grapes Of Wrath (Live), Solution (live), Roof Of The World (live) and Love Is The Ghost (live). | Here & Now - Coaxed Out From Oxford. CD. 'From seventies free festival jam band thru space punk floating anarchists with Daevid Allen (as Planet Gong), reggae infused eighties indie space rock, nineties psychedelic trance to present day warped tecno-retro with members of Eat Static and Ozric Tentacles, Here & Now are one of the most influential space rock bands in the UK. This release, a lovingly re-mastered version of their self produced tape, Coaxed Out from Oxford, plus bonus tracks from a raucous show at the Polytechnic Of Wales, features the longest running Here & Now line up of Keith ‘Le Missile Bass’ Bailey on bass/vocals, Deano Ferrari on guitars/vocals, Gavin da Blitz on keyboards/vocals and Paul Rose on drums. |
Sex Pistols - Never Mind The Sex Pistols - An Alternative History. DVD. Brand new documentary, concentrating on one of the seminal punk bands rise and fall, coinciding with the thirtieth anniversary of Never Mind The Bollocks. The acclaimed pistols biographer Alan Parker has put the piece together; it features interviews with Glen Matlock, Malcolm McLaren (a new interview in which he claims he never wanted to make the album in the first place!), Steve Diggle, George X, Steve "Roadent" Connelly and many more. 100 minutes / PAL / REGION 2/ Stereo sound. | Nervous Tension - Various. CD. Nervous Tension plucks 24, rip-snorting, amped-up declarations of post-punk intent from the catalogues of the labels which fall under the umbrella of EMI, including DinDisc, Harvest, Pre, United Artists and Virgin. Classics jostle with rarities and rediscovered nuggets. Remastered from the original tapes at Abbey Road, these gems are timeless. Mainly because these bands followed their own musical paths and had no truck with conforming to sonic stereotypes. Marrying the jagged and angular to the energy of punk was inspirational, as was drawing on a dance or reggae sensibility. Includes,Magazine, Scars, Gang Of Four, Skids, Flys, XTC, Public Image and more |
Slits - Return Of The Giant Slits. Dble CD. The full 1981 album + a bonus CD that features ALL the archived dub versions and an american radio interview of the time that was subsequently used by CBS for a ultra rare promo disc. New graphic Artwork and two of the classic photos by Anton Corbijn from the NME magazine cover session. The 1981, second, and final, Slits studio album, featuring the same line up as their first album "Cut", Ari Up, Tessa Pollit and Viv Albertine. This record has often been overshadowed by the more controversial 1979 "Cut" album. It represents their natural development as artistes by focussing more on their interests in dub and "world music" sound eclecticism (featuring Steve Beresford and ex Pop Group drummer Bruce Smith ) that is well suited to their, by then, more accomplished playing style. Perhaps, in retropsect, the Jamaican half sister to The Raincoats recordings. A "lost"gem, ripe for reappraisal, of this still vastly influential and important group in both musical and sociological terms. Produced by Dennis Bovell and Dick O'Dell (Y Records) Previously only available as an expensive Japanese import and never before released in the USA. DISC 1 1/Earthbeat 2/Or What It Is 3/Face Place 4/Walkabout 5/Difficult Fun 6/Animal Space/Spacier 7/Improperly Dressed 8/Life On Earth DISC 2 1/Japanese Earthbeat 2/ German Earthbeat 3/ Dub Beat 4/Face Dub 5 /Begin Again, Rhythm 6/ Earthbeat [12in] 7 /Earthbeat 8/ WORT FM Radio Interview | Johnny Moped - Cycledelic (mini LP Sleeve). CD. Marking thirty years after it's origianl release, this is the mini LP release of Moped's unique album, featuring the full barney rubble artwork (inner bag). One of the legendary original punk acts who had a massive live following and legions of fans were mesmerised by Moped’s electric performance and the superb guitar playing from Slimy Toad. |
Radiators - Trouble Pilgrim. CD. Originally called The Radiators From Space, these Irish proto-punk legends released two albums in the late '70's before disbanding. Various attempts have bee nmade in the last few years to get the band back on it's feet, with numerous line ups joining some of the original members. After a few EP releases at the start of the century, here it is, their third album proper. Fourteen tracks in total. | Wild Willy Barrett - Judge & The Devil Anthology 1968-2005. Dble CD. Unique anthology of talented multi-instrumentalist’s long, eccentric, erratic recording career. Very much a collector’s set, including odd singles, rare demos, live recordings, outtakes and plenty of previously unreleased material. |
Gist - Embrace The Herd. CD. Welcome reissue of long deleted 1983 album from the Gist, featuring Stuart Moxham, half of the creative force behind the much beloved Young Marble Giants, who still boast a huge international cult following. The musical minimalism crafted around these short , poignant numbers were really a continuation of Stuart Moxham's old outfit and a welcom change to the other post punk groups of the era. As well as the original studio album, the CD is also packaged with four bonus tracks. | Photos - Photos. CD. An expanded re-release of this much-loved Top Five UK chart album first released in June 1980. Formed in Evesham from the ashes of cult punk act Satan's Rats, the Photos released a clutchof great 'garage-girl' singles and had elements of the buzzcocks in their arrangements. The original twelve track album has eleven bonus tracks including the entire eight track "Blackmail Tapes" album of demos and out-takes that came out as a bonus album with the original release. |
Dead Kennedys - Milking The Sacred Cow… Very Best Of. CD. The popular and respected American punk rock band have compiled together their ten best known recordings onto one glorious package. Included here are: "Move Over Marin", "Nazi Punks Fuck Off", "Police Truck" and "Halloween" alongside two unreleased live songs "Soup Is Good Fun" and "Jock-Orama." | Certain General - Invisible New York. Dble CD. One of the most startling but under-rated groups to emerge from post-punk New York City. The group formed in 1980 and built a fearsome underground reputation seducing the city's major clubs, including CBGB's, the Mudd and Danceteria, with their intoxicating blend of spikey rhythms, surreal lyrical flights and psychedelic surf guitar onslaughts. compilation draws from past releases such as 'Holiday Of Love', 'November's Heat', 'These Are The Days', 'Introduction To War' and 'Cabin Fever', as well as live recordings from CBGB's and NY's Public Theatre in 2001, radio broadcasts and a previously-unreleased session with Lenny Kaye and Julee Cruise recorded in the wake of 9/11. |
