Ian Gillan Band - Child In Time. CD. (Edsel - EDSS1002)

"Child In Time" was the first album by Ian Gillan after his departure from Deep Purple in 1973. The Ian Gillan Band comprised Ian Gillan himself, Ray Fenwick (guitar),John Gustafson (bass), Mike Moran (keyboards), and Mark Nauseef (drums). Released in July 1976, it reached # 55 in the UK album chart and shows the band pursuing a jazz rock direction. The title track is an amazing reworking of the DeepPurple classic from "Deep Purple In Rock".The languorous "Let It Slide", almost 12 minutes in length, gives the band the opportunity to showcase their skills.
