Ian Gillan - Double Trouble. CD. (Repertoire Records - REP 4792) Double album from 1981 issued on one bargain priced CD featuring the voice of Ian Gillan (Deep Purple) and the guitar of Janick Gers. One album worth of studio material and one of live tracks coming in at 76 minutes. The studio tracks include the epic "Born To Kill" but it is on the live tracks that the band really shine. Made at the height of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal this is a fine reminder of how heavy Gillan could be. Check out "Mutually Assured Destruction" and the classic cover of Elvis' "Trouble".

Ian Gillan - Gillan's Inn - Deluxe Tour Edition. CD + DVD. (Immergent - 2841212) Dual disc (CD on one side, DVD on the other) release of Ian Gillan's 2006 album. A great concept, Gillan enlists here many of his musical buddies (Tomy Iommi, Joe Satriani, Steve Morse, Jon Lord and many more) to re-record classic tracks from his own career as a solo artist and in Sabbath and Deep Purple. CD features three bonus tracks, DVD features rare performance footage of Gillan fronting Sabbath and Purple, expanded on tour footage (drunken interviews and saucy tour bus fun), track by track commentary, behind the scenes making of the album, lyrics, bonus tracks and a photo gallery.
