Ian Gomm - Rock N Roll Heart. CD. (B.G.O. Records - GOMCD1)

Recorded in Nashville this ex Brinsley Schwarz man has come up trumps with a magnificent studio album that features Nanci Griffith and Russell Smith from the Amazing Rhythm Aces. Quite a poppy affair this is a real return to form in a true Brinsley style. Includes 16 page cartoon booklet with each song having it's own picture. Great stuff.

Ian Gomm - Hold On - The Best Of. CD. (Cherry Red - CDMRED270)

Former Brinsley Schwarz mainman (unless you count, er, Brinsley Schwarz) Gomm, also of Kippington Lodge, has had a long and varied solo career since 1975, during which time he produced and played for The Stranglers, Dave Edmunds, Joe Jackson, Amon Duul and Peter Hammill. He also wrote for other artists, including Glen Campbell, Marshall Crenshaw and Jona Lewie. This is the first time a full CD overview of his own recordings has been released, including his 1979 US hit 'Hold On'. A unique insight into the work of an underrated sonmgwriter, arranger and producer.

Ian Gomm - 24 Hour Service. CD. (Hux Records - HUX035)

Live CD recorded during the former Brinsleys man/singer songwriter's 1979 US tour, shortly after a surprise hit single over there with 'Hold On'. Not dissimilar to a British Todd Rundgren, but without the benefit of large amounts of psychotropic drugs, this is a quality power-pop-rock set by an underrated talent in the genre. Never before released in any format: booklet features comprehensive liner notes, an interview, and several photographs from Gomm's scrapbooks.
