Jack Nitzsche - Chopin '66. CD. (Collectors Choice - CCM 6902)

Nitzsche's attempt at bringing extracts from Chopin to a modern audience is a surprising success, contemporary arrangements and the sound of the pianist being able to flex his orchestral muscles for the first time. Originally intended as a way of getting a younger audience to listen to classical music, this now serves as a fascinating '60's collectors item. Clearly a labour of love. Features: "Fantasie Impromptu", "Revolutinary Etude", "OP. 28 (Raindrop) and "Funeral Procession."

Jack Nitzsche - Dance To The Beatles. CD. (Collectors Choice - CCM 6882)

One of the millions of cash in albums made after the initial surge of The Beatles in '64, though this may surprise a few. Full of little production touches, expert musicianship throughout and even the occaisional original based on Beatle songwriting techniques! "Beatle-Mania in particular is fascinating, Nitzsche cribbing varous riffs from early Beatle tracks to create something new. Look out for original composition "Ringo", with a Lennon-esque Harmonica riffIncludes some instrumentals of Beatles covers like "Chains" and "Twist And Shout", as well as "Please, Please Me", "She Loves You" and "I Want To Hold Your Hand." First time on CD, a must for alternative Beatle fans.Due In: 17/07/2006

Jack Nitzsche - St. Giles Cripplegate. CD. (Collectors Choice - CCM 6892)

Nitzsche had already dabbled in classical work with his Chopin '66 album, working around his arranging duties for Neil Young. This album of original compositions from '72. Utilising the services of the London Symphony Orchestra and the LSO, in total featuring over 100 musicians. Recorded in St. Giles Cripplegate Church (for it's six second natural echo delay.) Unsurprisingly, the record label didn't have a clue what to do with this abitious masterpiece of modern classical music, and it died on it's arse. A labour of love that will hopefully be rediscovered now. Includes: #1, #2, #3, and #4 (for mori)
