Fire - My Fathers Name Is Dad (En El Nom Del Pare - 45s, Demos & Ac. LP. Well-known British group leaded by Dave Lambert, Fires’s 45 "Father’s Name is Dad" (Decca, 1967) is considered a classic of the freakbeat genre, having been included in uncountable compilations since the '80s. The band is also remembered for their sole full-length album, "The Magic Shoemaker", a perfect example of the transition from psychedelia to progressive rock, in 1970. But before releasing this album, the band recorded a number of demos and acetates, ranging from freakbeat to psychedelic and early prog-rock. This compilation puts together on one LP a collection of their 45s, demos & acetates (exactly like the mighty label Tenth Planet did in the mid 90’s), which you can now get before it sells out! .

Ballroom Beat Vol 2 - Try Me Out - Various. CD. 20 tempting portions of prime British Beat (1964-66) previously uncomped on CD. The music contained within is a bit more all-embracing than the hard-rocking R&B which emanated from smoky blues basements. What we have here is Volume 2, full of artistes who typify Saturday night in a provincial dance hall. You’ll find a Scottish band who only had records released in Germany, one of Brian Epstein’s less successful discoveries, two different early versions of King Crimson, a Coronation Street actor trying his hand at pop, and the band that would soon become Marmalade, plus, of course, a host of further delights.

Steve Baron Quartet - The Mother Of Us All. CD. Despite boasting enthusiastic sleevenotes from Pete Townshend of the Who (‘all the musicians are in perfect harmony, all the songs are full of life, all the sounds spontaneously and simultaneously imploding and exploding’), this superb fusion of jazz, folk and psychedelic rock failed to connect when it first appeared in 1969. Featuring some astonishing musical interplay and searing guitar playing, as well as a handful of haunting acoustic tracks, it’s a lost classic that makes its CD debut

Deep Purple - Live At San Diego Sports Arena, April 9th 1974. CD. Last show of the five week American "Burn" tour, with the band in blistering form. Able to let their hair down, the sheer power and quality of the performance has to be heard to be believed. Four tracks from this show turned up first on the American made and now very collectable "Perks & Tit" vinyl bootleg, issued on the legendary Kornyphone label back in the late seventies. For this first official CD release Sonic Zoom (part of the Purple Records label) tracked down the sound engineer who taped the first hour of the show through the mixing desk, and have been able to add extra material (including the missing cut of the band's rock anthem Smoke On The Water), all the between song patter, a concluding Jon Lord solo and much improved audio quality (as well as a comment from Glenn to the crowd that it's nice to be doing a show without having to worry about being recorded!). This is a single CD set, the second part of the show has been lost. The CD first appeared back in 2003 as a very limited edition, but has been out of print now for several years
