Jon Anderson - Song Of Seven. CD. (Wounded Bird Records - WOU 6021)

Second Anderson solo album from 1980- less concept based than 'Olias Of Sunhillow' but still as quaint, lush and quintessentially English as the best of his work with Yes. The first few tracks seem as if they are moving into commercial waters, but by the time we're halfway through we're in familiar tree-hugging, fairy-dust encrusted Anderson territory. One of rock's most distinctive and powerful vocalists accompanied by a band including Jack Bruce, Clem Clempson, Dick Heckstall Smith, Simon Phillips and John Dankworth- what more could you want?

Jon Anderson - Animation. CD. (Opio Media - OPIOVP01CD)

The former Yes singer's third solo album, first released in 1983. His first after leaving Yes, there are many pop references appearing in his work as well as the tried and tested prog. It is an album that's both complex and uplifting and features elements of Jon updating his sound with the electronica of the era. Jon surrounds himself with Jack Bruce's touring band (Bruce als oappears on a few tracks) to create something quite special here. This nine track album has always been a fan favourite.
