Limited edition vinyl release of unreleased rehearsals/live performance by seminal Manchester post punk outfit Joy Division. Recorded between 1977 and 1980 (months before singer Ian Curtis' tragic suicide), this features raw arrangements of classics such as 'Atrocity Exhibition', 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' and 'Shadowplay'.
Incredible live show from one of the greatest post punk bands, Joy Division, recorded weeks before the tragic suicide of singer Ian Curtis. Features live versions of classics such as Shadowplay, Transmission, and She's Lost Control, in gatefold sleeve on 180 gram purple vinyl.
Named after the two Ian Curtis movies that are hopefully to go into production in 2007, this CD features extremely rare interviews with all the members of Joy Division and Martin Hannett. The extracts are linked by some superb live performances and rare studio outtakes from throughout their brief career. Includes: "Shadowplay", "Love Will Tear Us Apart", "Colony" and "Transmission."
This is REALLY going to appeal to all Joy Division fans, recently discovered tapes put together by his friends and family. This album features alternative mixes of Joy Division classics like Passover, The Eternal, 24 Hours, Autosuggestion and more, recorded on Hannett's own tape machine which he left running throughout his sessions with the group and he stored away in his personal archive. These alternative versions were the producers personal favourite versions, he wisely got control of these takes and from the band members. Also features studio chit chat and banter, this is a very rare insight into how the group worked in the studio.
