Kaleidoscope (UK) - Faintly Blowing. CD. (Repertoire Records - REPUK1047)

Here at last is the CD reissue of this classic UK 1969 psych album by Kaleidoscope. It was their second and last release before they mutated into Fairfield Parlour and made one album for Vertigo. Housed in a digi-pack with the original artwork, this ethereal masterpiece is one of the great UK '60's psych albums. In places the band can be compared with the improvised and innocent acid whimsy of early Pink Floyd as they encapsulate an eccentric and very British slant on psychedelia. Off the wall acid rock effects collide with dreamy orchestrated folk and whimsical pop with magical results. This re-issue includes not only 6 bonus tracks but also a detailed booklet. Stunning.

Kaleidoscope (UK) - The Fairfield Parlour Years. Dble CD. (New Millenium - PILOT 56)

One of the best kept secrets of the UK paisley pop psychedelic scene, Kaleidoscope became Fairfield Parlour in 1970. These two albums, recorded as Fairfield Parlour, continue the theme of pop-sike melodies, albeit with a harder, more experimental progressive folk sound. "White Faced Lady" was originally a double concept album (unreleased until the early '90s) and the Vertigo release "From Home To Home" comes with 9 bonus tracks (including all the singles) pretty much completing the story of this important band. Includes booklet. We have obtained a few copies of this long deleted gem.
