Killing Joke - 25th Gathering: Let Us Prey. CD. (Cooking Vinyl - COOKCD358)

Live album from the Joke recorded at Shepherds Bush Empire in 2005, trawling through every possible known era of their career. The Joke are quite possibly the most incendiary live act (except possibly Cheap Trick on a good night) in existence: don't miss the chance to experience it in your living room. Altogether now: "ASTERRRRRRRRROOOIIIDDDDDDDD!!"

Killing Joke - Democracy. CD. (Cooking Vinyl - COOKCD345)

1999 release from Jaz Coleman, Geordie Walker and The Youth- one of rock's most bizarre collections of freaks who still make earth-shattering music. Less industrial-metal flavoured than its predecessor 'Pandemonium' and returning instead to the churning, juddering and unclassifiable sound of old- back in the days when to be 'dark' you didn't have to walk round in Cyberdog fashion fascist regalia. Angry swathes of guitar like rolling seas upon which tumble sour, embittered vocals- as best displayed on the title track, 'Aeon' 'Another Bloody Election' 'Prozac People' and the outstanding 'Medicine Wheel'. Expanded with bonus tracks, but at time of writing no-one knows exactly what they are!!!

Killing Joke - Ha!. CD. (EG Records - KJRE4)

Originally released as a 10"mini- album, this was the Joke's first live release and, as anyone who knew the band at the time will testify, is pretty incendiary and eeevil stuff. The version of 'The Pandys' on this actually outstrips the original for ferocity and sheer 'aaarg'. Remastered with three bonus tracks including the almost joyful "Sun Goes Down" and it's original 2 B-sides.

Killing Joke - Killing Joke. CD. (EG Records - JKRE1)

One of the greatest debut albums of all time from 1980, that still sounds like slabs of molten barbed wire coated with children's blood. Be prepared to be assaulted by thick guitars, thudding drums and manic vocals that allegedly feature no overdubs- and once you've heard it, you'll realise why this is worrying. Contains "Wardance","The Wait" the demonic "S,036" (the name of a Berlin postcode) and more. This is a powerful debut and as influential as Pere Ubu's "Modern Dance", Gang Of Four's "Entertainment?" and the Slits' "Cut" Now remastered with bonus material including the original version of "Change" the single edit of "Requiem" and 3 alternative takes. It don't get better than this- until the next album.

Killing Joke - Killing Joke (2003). CD. (Zuma - ZUMACD002)

U.S. version of this brand new 2003 album from this amazing band that features Dave Grohl on drums. It's dark, energetic and the Joke have made their best album in 20 years. Maybe it's because Youth has rejoined the fold? Contains one bonus track of 'Wardance' not found on the UK release.

Killing Joke - Pandemonium. CD. (Cooking Vinyl - COOKCD344)

To commemorate the Joke's 25th anniversary in 2005 (and their bizarre (read stupid) tour billing as support to Motley Crue) we are proud to present the expanded edition of their 1994 album, on which their tribal, trancey, dark, demented vibe was augmented with the influence of the bands they had themsleves helped to kickstart- Soundgarden, Metallica, Nine Inch Nails and Nirvana being just a few. The apocalyptic, swirling title track is still the best thing on the album, but 'Millennium' 'Exorcism' 'Communion' 'Black Moon' and 'Whiteout' (the last-named unfortunately suffering from the fact that the shouted title sounds like 'Bollocks!!') are all incredible too. A brilliant reinvention from a band who always lead and never follow. There are bonus tracks, but at time of writing their titles remained unknown.

Killing Joke - Revelations. CD. (EMI - KJRE3)

Third album from 1982 (and Youth's last) from one of the most confrontational and unclassifiable bands the UK ever produced, who influenced practically every goth, industrial, punk, grunge or metal band that followed. Recorded in Germany with legendary producer Conny Plank, the album did indeed embrace the Teutonic style: witness 'We Have Joy' or 'Chop Chop''s stentorian bludgeon for proof. Meanwhile 'Empire Song' and 'The Pandys Are Coming' demonstrated that the quirky melodicism which first drew them to the public's attention hadn't left them. This was the last studio album before the original lineup disintegrated: here it appears remastered with the bonus track "We Have Joy" (alternate take)

Killing Joke - The Courtauld Talks. CD. (Invisible - INV004CD)

A much sought after recording from this highly influential UK band. Recorded in 1989 at a conference given at the world-famous Courtauld Institute, this contains not music, but spoken word and percussion, as founders Jaz Coleman and Geordie Walker discuss at length the world issues of the time (Locherbie, the Middle East) and how they apply to geometrics, accmpanied by the ambient percussion of Jeff Scantlebury. Although containing no actual songs as such, this is still an enlightening experience and after being 'hard to find' for several years is here in all its digitally remastered glory.

Massive collection of unreleased and rare recordings from the original (and best) line up. Compiled by guitarist Geordie Walker it contains Capital Radio sessions (1980), Fan Club recordings and original Malicious Damage recordings of "Psyche" & "Follow The Leaders"(different lyrics). Artwork has been completed by original Joke designer Mike Coles.

Killing Joke - What's THIS For. . .!. CD. (EMI - KJRE2)

Remastered version of one of the seminal albums of the post-punk era, an unholy collision of insane vocals, barbed wire guitar, gnashing electronic beats and demonic synthesisers straight from the subterrenean wastes. Taking the blueprint of their seminal debut even further in 1981, Messrs Coleman, Walker, Glover and Ferguson made music that often sounded like the end of the world happening in your fridge. 'The Fall Of Because' 'Who Told You How' 'Madness' 'Unspeakable' and the deceptively dancey 'Follow The Leaders' are powerful beyond belief, and still remain some of the band's most extreme statements. Unmissable, never mind unspeakable. Remastered with bonus material including the unreleased "Brilliant" and 2 dub cuts.

Killing Joke - XXV Gathering: The Band That Preys Together Stays Together. DVD. (Eagle Vision - EREDV522)

The only official (PAL) DVD in existence from the band that inspired a thousand careers and warped a dozen genres. Recorded at their 25th Anniversary show in London, 2005: Geordie, Jaz, Youth and some bloke on drums still sound like the most incendiary combination of musicians to have ever set foot on a stage- their renditions of 'War Dance' 'The Wait' 'Psyche' and 'Empire Song' sounding every part the equal of the originals. Not for the faint of heart.

Killing Joke - 25th Gathering: Let Us Prey. Dble LP. (Let Them Eat Vinyl - LETV004LP)

Recorded live at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire on February 25th 2005, this album is a true testament to Killing Joke’s unmistakable splendid melodic legacy. Having just picked up a 'Lifetime Achievement' award at the 2005 Kerrang! Awards, the band have cemented their place in rock history. Killing Joke - Hosannas From The Basements Of Hell. Dble LP. (Let Them Eat Vinyl - LETV005LP)

2006-released album from the hugely influential and seminal London band that seemingly kickstarted a dozen of the genres that ensued in the following 25 years, from goth to grunge, nu-metal to emo and back again. Put simply, without Killing Joke, half of the so-called 'alternative' music in the world would not exist. This, their twelfth full length studio album, sows the band as uncompromising and aggressive as they ever were- the minimalist, clanking dance rhythms that underscored their early work may now have gone, and the production (by Paul Lusardi, who produced their first recordings in 1979) may be bigger-budget now, but the anger and the lunacy have not dissipated. Age and time will not wither Jaz Coleman and Geordie Walker: give thanks for their continued existence. Double blue limited edition vinyl of amazing audiophile quality in a gatefold sleeve.
